Namsong Bridge, Vang Vieng

The Namsong Bridge is a toll bridge in the centre of Van Vieng town which connects the eastern side of the Namsong River where Vang Vieng town is located with the western side where most of the main tourist attractions around Vang Vieng are located.

The Namsong Bridge is one of three bridges over the Namsong River in Vang Vieng. What sets the Namsong Bridge apart from the other two bridges, one of which is seasonal and closes in the rainy season, is that the Namsong Bridge is the only bridge over the river in Vang Vieng which you can drive a car or motorcycle over, or easily pedal a bicycle over.

About the Namsong Bridge


The Namsong Bridge is open all hours and the following fees are payable to use the bridge (for the return journey):

  • Pedestrians: 4,000 Lao Kip
  • Cyclists: 6,000 Lao Kip
  • Motorbikes: 10,000 Lao Kip
  • Buggy: 15,000 Lao Kip

If you are planning to visit the Tham Chang Cave then we recommend that you use the bridge to the south in the Vangvieng Resort which costs 5,000 Lao Kip to cross over but its a much easier to walk from that bridge to the Tham Chang Cave than it is from the Namsong Bridge.
