Luang Prabang Tourist Bus and International Bus Station

Luang Prabang Tourist Bus and International Bus Station is one of three major bus stations in Luang Prabang, Laos. As the name suggests, this is the bus station from which the majority of bus services to Thailand and Vietnam depart from, as well tour bus services to Vang Vieng and Vientiane.

Luang Prabang Tourist Bus and International Bus Station is located very close to Luang Prabang Southern Bus Terminal, on the opposite side of the main road.

Luang Prabang Tourist Bus and International Bus Station has bus services to wide range of long distance destinations, particularly destinations in the neighbouring countries of Thailand and Vietnam.

The bus services which depart from Luang Prabang Tourist Bus and International Bus Station are noticeably far better quality than the bus and minivan services which depart from the nearby Luang Prabang Southern Bus Terminal.

Because of the long distance some of these bus services travel, for instance 24 hours to Hanoi and 22 hours to Chiang Mai, most have on board toilets and fully reclining seats. A notable except to this is the bus from Luang Prabang to Nan which is a minibus without an onboard toilet, although this journey takes a more manageable 9 hours with comfort breaks on route.

Luang Prabang Tourist Bus and International Bus Station is located 3,5 km by road from the Royal Palace Museum in the centre of Luang Prabang Old Town which is where most of the hotels and guesthouses are located. For most visitors to Luang Prabang their accommodation will be located too far away for it to be practical to walk to Luang Prabang Tourist Bus and International Bus Station.
